Rugby: Collins ready to rip into French

All Blacks battering-ram Jerry Collins is out to give the French hell in his first test of the season on Saturday night. The heel injury he suffered playing club rugby is improving everyday and he can not wait to let rip in the Capital.

Captain Richie McCaw took a limited part in training yesterday, but his bruised hip should not prevent him leading the side. But Dan Carter remains a doubtful starter and will have to pass a fitness test on his injured ankle today.

Rugby: No Carter on Saturday after failing fitness

Dan Carter has failed a fitness test on his crook ankle and will miss the second test against France in Wellington this Saturday night. The All Blacks match-winner played little part in today's training session, and has been replaced by Nick Evans in the starting line-up. Centre Ma'a Nonu gets another call-up to the bench, with Conrad Smith's hamstring still troubling him – along with Doug Howlett.

Rugby: Injuries force changes to the ABs line-up

Dan Carter is out and Nick Evans is in for the All Blacks second test against France on Saturday. Carter has not recovered from his ankle injury so Evans comes into the starting XV and is replaced on the bench by Doug Howlett. Carter’s injury is not the only one forcing changes ahead of the match Wellington

As confident as many kiwis were that Team New Zealand would beat the Italians to win the Louis Vuitton cup a 5 nil result seemed more like wishful thinking than a real possibility. Just before 4:00am, Campbell Live spoke to Grant Dalton to ask just how good it felt.
