ABs cast their election votes

Several of the All Blacks took time out of their busy schedule in Hong Kong yesterday to vote ahead of next weekend's general election.

Skipper Richie McCaw, Andew Hore, Tony Woodcock, Jamie MacIntosh and John Afoa were just some of the All Blacks who visited the New Zealand consulate in Hong Kong yesterday afternoon to cast special votes ahead of Saturday's election.

Under NZ's electoral system voters can cast "special votes" if genuinely unable to attend a regular polling place.

The All Blacks are in Hong Kong for their Bledisloe Cup game tonight against the Wallabies. They then travel on to Europe for games against Scotland, Ireland, Munster, Wales and England.

HAVING HIS SAY: All Black captain Richie McCaw casting his vote ahead of the general election. The ABs will not be in the country for the November 8 election and were able to cast 'special votes' at the NZ consulate in Hong Kong.
