OPINION: Dominion Post rugby writer Toby Robson's weekly Super 14 rundown.
CRUSADERS
In the news: The Crusaders' secret is out and it's chocolate cake! Dan Carter let the cat out of the bag on revealing his changing sheds treat after hitting the 1000-point mark against the Hurricanes. The other four New Zealand franchises clearly need to get baking.
Physio's table: Corey Flynn (ankle fracture), couple more weeks; Kieran Read (shoulder), in doubt this week; Thomas Waldrom (ankle), day to day; Adam Whitelock (ankle), minor.
The good: Backing your defence so much you can hold a side out for 29 phases without conceding a penalty. Sure Waratahs centre Rob Horne scored eventually, but 29 phases, that's discipline.
The bad: Kahn Fotuali'i getting yellow carded for a textbook front-on tackle on Waratahs back Berrick Barnes. The look on ex-league player Brad Thorn's face was priceless and summed up what most of us think about the over-zealous reffing of the tackle this season.
