The Crusaders will not have the services of Richie McCaw for Saturday night’s home game against the table-topping Stormers.
McCaw has recently had the screws removed from his injured foot and it could be another fortnight before he is ready to play
However, he remains patient in his bid to get himself 100 percent right and says his recovery is coming along nicely.
“I’m not frustrated. I’ve realised it’s going to take a while, but its all progressed nicely. Sure I'd like to be out their playing but I’ve just got to make sure when the doctor says it’s right to play, I'll play,” he says.
Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder says McCaw is keeping up with the team.
“It’s just good to have him back fully integrated into the team and he's doing everything that the rest of the players are doing,” he says.
But while there are smiles all around at McCaw’s return, fan favourite Israel Dagg is in danger of losing his spot - according to his coach - after a flaky defensive performance in the number 15 jersey in the loss to the Bulls.
Dagg admits his performance is well below par.
“I pride myself on how I play and to play like that is pretty poor. But another week to go and hopefully I can go out there and deliver,” he says.
Dan Carter will start at second five-eight and the positional move will also lighten his kicking duties with Tom Taylor to handle the defensive kicking and the goal kicking.
